add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Kristen Morgan’s blog is about to get her into trouble. Deep trouble. Online, she is known as “Stargazer” from the popular Stargazing from Nowhere blog, while in real life she is a regular fifteen-year-old high school student. This online anonymity is quite liberating, allowing her to be completely honest with her readers. Through a twist of fate, Rising Tide, the band she has bashed the most online, ends up in her small town, which sends Kristen into an excited panic. To continue gathering fresh material for her blog, she poses as a Rising Tide fan. After sneaking into the band’s private party, she comes face to face with the band’s drummer, Michael Stevens, who happens to be even more gorgeous in person than she cares to admit. Something unexpected also happens to her when she meets him: she becomes giddy, nervous, and inarticulate, leading Kristen to realize that her interest in Michael has nothing to do with her blog, but everything to do with her heart. As Kristen and Michael grow closer, does she have to make a choice between blog or boyfriend…Or is the choice made for her?

To be honest i liked the way the beginning was headed. The beginning had funny, and the Funny awkward. but more the story got the more “The Funny awkward” just was awkward and not funny. it got really boring. The funny doesn’t last long at all.

I did have a lot of Love/Hate moments with the character. Like i said she was funny and had me wanting to read more in the beginning but then she became the person who i wouldn’t hangout is. She become awful and just annoying. She would make me so mad. She knew what she was doing was wrong but yet she still did it…i just didn’t get it and i just couldn’t connect to it all. I am all about being Honest about how you feel about certain things but just to be hateful? No Thank you.

I had to stop reading the book after a while. I just couldn’t get pass Chapter 12 without being just totally mad with the whole thing. Maybe the book does get better to what it was like in the beginning but i highly doubt it by the way chapter 12 was heading. I wish i could have just bare threw and finished it but i just couldn’t.

I can’t say the book was a total mess, it did have it moments. Like i said the beginning was pretty awesome. And besides the main character all the other characters where really interesting to read about. specially the whole band guy group thing. I really wanted to know more about them. Maybe if the book wasn’t just in her P.O.V and we got to know all the characters then maybe i could have finished it. But also i always been more in the whole Dystopian, Science Fiction life…Then realistic romance book like this one.. This book reminded me that i don’t like these types of books that well. Yes i have read some really good books that where Contemporary, but this one i just couldn’t make myself like it.

Besides all that i can tell there is a good book hiding under all the mess. I am not trying to say the Authors didn’t good. I am sure they can write a really awesome book if they tried just a little harder. This book i feel like is set for certain readers that isn’t like me. I also can’t judge this book because me being a Science Fiction reader, i don’t think i can fully understand this world.

Overall: I wasn’t feeling this book but i hope others will.

YA Book Review: The Interrogation of Ashala Wolf by Ambelin Kwaymullina

18209419Title: The Interrogation of Ashala Wolf ( The Tribe #1)
Author: Ambelin Kwaymullina
Expected publication: April 8th 2014 by Candlewick
Type: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Dystopian
Source: LibraryThing’s Early Reviews

add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: A compelling debut novel asks what happens when children develop inexplicable abilities—and the government sees them as a threat.

They’re known as Firestarters. Boomers. Skychangers. The government calls them Illegals — children with inexplicable abilities — and detains them in menacing facilities so that society is kept out of harm’s way. Ashala Wolf and her Tribe of fellow Illegals have taken refuge in the Firstwood, a forest eerily conscious of its inhabitants, where they do their best to survive and where they are free to practice their abilities. But when Ashala is compelled to venture outside her territory, she is betrayed by a friend and captured by an enemy. Injured and vulnerable, with her own Sleepwalker ability blocked, Ashala is forced to succumb to a machine that will pull secrets from her mind. It’s only a matter of time before the machine ferrets out the location of the Tribe. Her betrayer, Justin Connor, is ever-present, saving her life when she wishes to die and watching her every move. Will the Tribe survive the interrogation of Ashala Wolf?

I was a little confused in the beginning but i am pretty sure the Author did that on purpose, so you can feel as confused as the character. The more the story goes on the more you connect the dots to what is going on in the story.

I did read the book fairly fast. Cause for one the character in the book was awesome and second the whole plot  with the Twist and Turns that had me flipping threw the pages just to find out more. I really loved most of the characters in the book but the main one was for sure hands down, Ashala. Even after finishing the book i can still say she is a favorite of mine. The Love and care the character has for her tribe members was just flowing out of the pages for me. The love and care she has for them is strong and just beautiful, even when she was betrayed by one she still cared for them..because they where Tribe.

you read you Ashala point of View but you also get connect with the other characters in the book. That is one of the things i liked about the book. Yes it was about Ashala but really it was about the others too. Once you watch the book unravel, it becomes this powerful book to me like trust and family and the things you will do to protect them. Scene that had me crying, but a lot of scenes was just so freaking sad…sad scene that still put a smile on your face. I Don’t want to say much about the other characters but besides Connor..i just have to mention him.

Threw the book i was just craving for more Conner. you get left confused by Connor threw most of the book. BUT i more towards the end you finally get more on Connor and omg i cried! specially around the end…the tears just wouldn’t stop. Conner is Awesome and i am gonna go ahead and jump on the Ashala and Conner Ship. There relationship starts off a little rocky but once you read the book, that becomes understandable.

Overall: Besides the slow confusing beginning, i couldn’t find a flaw in the book. It’s full of Mystery and lots of other awesome stuff. The book i guess you can say is a dystopian but mixed with supernatural. Anyways awesome Bool. I defiantly recommend it.

Waiting on Wednesday (13) – Wings by Elizabeth Richards

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine,
which spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating!

Title: Wings ( Black City #3 )
Author: Elizabeth Richards
Expected publication: June 12th 2014 by G.P. Putnam’s Sons BYR
Type: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Dystopian

Goodreads: Following the cliffhanger ending of Phoenix, Natalie finds herself separated from Ash and unexpectedly reunited with her parents, including the father she thought was dead. But she can only think of Ash. She hasn’t heard a word of him since she and Elijah were brought to the underground headquarters of the Sentry Rebellion. But she vows to find him.

Ash, meanwhile is back in Black City; it’s the perfect place to hide from the Sentry government. But not for long. He won’t give up on Natalie or bringing an end to the terrible reign of Purian Rose.

A pulse-racing end to an exciting series.

Thoughts: One of the things i love about this series is the covers, Specially this one. The cover is just so beautiful. I love how she doesn’t have someone face on a cover or somethings totally random, but the fact that the cover is pretty spot on with what the story is heading towards. I love the character in the book. I love the fact she took a different route in Dystopian books with a touch of supernatural. I can’t wait to read this book. I honestly don;t know how i am gonna sit and wait for this book to come out because it’s gonna take freaking forever.  All my friends that have read this series isn’t as much of a fan as i am. But i don’t care i will love this series over and over again.  Besides how can someone say no to Ash? like he is the coolest character in the whole freaking book series.

So overall can’t wait!

YA Book Review: Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy #1)
Author: Pierce Brown
Expected publication: January 28th 2014 by Del Rey (Random House)
Type: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Dystopian
Source: LibraryThing Early Reviews

add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Darrow is a miner and a Red, a member of the lowest caste in the color-coded society of the future. Like his fellow Reds, he digs all day, believing that he and his people are making the surface of the planet livable for future generations. Darrow has never seen the sky.

Yet he spends his life willingly, knowing that his blood and sweat will one day result in a better future for his children.

But Darrow and his kind have been betrayed. Soon he discovers that humanity already reached the surface generations ago. Vast cities and sprawling parks spread across the planet. Darrow and Reds like him are nothing more than slaves to a decadent ruling class.

Inspired by a longing for justice, and driven by the memory of lost love, Darrow joins a resistance group in order to infiltrate the ruling class and destroy society from within. He will stop at nothing to bring down his enemies… even if it means he has to become one of them to do so.

I really have to point this out, Red Rising has to be one of my Favorite Opening to a book. I thought how it started how a good way to show you how Darrow becomes the Darrow later in the book. You get thrown in with so much emotional and tears for Darrow. He is the kinda guy who does what his told for the good of his people but after what happens ( i won’t mention ) You watch him become more aware of what really is going on. There is a part in the book that is some-what in the beginning that had me in tears. I never really cried in a book in the beginning of a story cause i usually don’t get drown to the characters until i really get to know that character, But in Red rising in this scene i cried like a baby. Darrow has to be one of my top favorite characters in books.

After the beginning the story does kinda go on a slow paste, but one the story goes on the more the gets bigger and more intense in the plot. There is a lot of parts in the book that had me biting my nails and scenes that had me almost in rage. Like with Darrow there was parts where i was yelling ” Do something Darrow “. You watch Darrow grown attach to some golds and hate others. But mostly he learns not all golds are bad and not reds are good.

I was suppressed how much i did end up loving the book. The has the whole Medieval feel to it later in the books, Touch of Survival. And also i loved how the books had the whole Honesty feel about it. The book wasn’t shy from Violence. There was times i did feel like it was like The Hunger Games mixed in old Medieval war but on a alien planet. Lots of suspense and action. Overall loved the whole plot.

I also really loved how the book ended, it wasn’t like a cliff hanger more like you know some serious stuff is gonna go down in the book, where we will get more of the Main plot.

Overall: I am happy to say i loved the book. Great Opening, slow start to the whole plot but once it was there the book just would get better and Better. In my opinion i highly recommend Readers YA or Adult, Boys or girls. I recommend the book for all. I Don;t Recommend the book for Children…Like i said the book wasn’t shy from Violence.

Goodreads: Rapunzel’s tower is a satellite. She can’t let down her hair—or her guard.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker—unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.

Thoughts: I LOVE, LOVE! this series. I am so happy my mother told me to read this series. Ever since then i have been just in love with this series. And doesn’t look like cress is just gonna be freaking amazing? After the ending of Scarlet i have been just dyeing to find out what happens next. Another reason why i love this series: You get to learn to love a new character in each book and watch them come together. You Don’t just focused one one character and that is just awesome! I already have this baby Pre-orderd

Title: Raging Star ( Dust Lands #3 )
Author: Moira Young
Expected publication: May 13th 2014 by Margaret K. McElderry Books
Type: Dystopian

Goodreads: Saba is ready to seize her destiny and defeat DeMalo and the Tonton…until she meets him and he confounds all her expectations with his seductive vision of a healed earth, a New Eden. DeMalo wants Saba to join him, in life and work, to create and build a healthy, stable, sustainable world…for the chosen few. The few who can pay.

Jack’s choice is clear: to fight DeMalo and try to stop New Eden. Still uncertain, her connection with DeMalo a secret, Saba commits herself to the fight. Joined by her brother, Lugh, anxious for the land in New Eden, Saba leads an inexperienced guerilla band against the powerfully charismatic DeMalo, in command of his settlers and the Tonton militia. What chance do they have? Saba must act. And be willing to pay the price

Thoughts: Another series i love( and i do have many ). I really can’t wait to read this one! i have been biting my nails ever since i have read the 2nd book. I am a little disappointed in the cover. i never really been a fan of dark green shade. But i do really love the fact that Saba and Jack are both on the cover( I ship them ). The way the book series is written has always caught an interest in me. Sometime i like to read the book aloud just because it fun. I haven’t pre-order this book yet but i do plan on it soon.

YA Book Review: Angelbound by Christina Bauer

add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Eighteen year old Myla Lewis is a girl who loves two things: kicking ass and kicking ass. She’s not your every day quasi-demon, half-demon and half-human, girl. For the past five years, Myla has lived for the days she gets to fight in Purgatory’s arena. When souls want a trial by combat for their right to enter heaven or hell, they go up against her, and she hasn’t lost a battle yet.

But as she starts her senior year at Purgatory High, the arena fights aren’t enough to keep her spirits up anymore. When the demons start to act weird, even for demons, and the King of the Demons, Armageddon, shows up at Myla’s school, she knows that things are changing and it’s not looking good for the quasi-demons. Myla starts to question everything, and doesn’t like the answers she finds. What happened seventeen years ago that turned the quasi-demons into slave labor? Why was her mom always so sad? And why won’t anyone tell her who her father is? Things heat up when Myla meets Lincoln, the High Prince of the Thrax, a super sexy half-human and half-angel demon hunter. But what’s a quasi-demon girl to do when she falls for a demon hunter? It’s a good thing that Myla’s not afraid of breaking a few rules. With a love worth fighting for, Myla’s going to shake up Purgatory.

In the Bargaining of the story, Myla had my attention. She is sassy, and a bad ass wrapped in a bomb Shell. She lives to fight in the arena and has never lost a fight. Even tho i liked Myla’s character. I did find the beginning to drag on threw the story. I really wanted the story to get to the main plot of the story. Once the story gets up to speed, i really started to like the story a lot more. Trust me the story does get better.

Myla is a half-demon living in Purgatory, she fights Souls. If the soul win he/she is sent to hevan…and if they lose well they are sent to hell. Myla always wins the fight so you can guess where the souls end up. She also liked to kick demon butt. She is miss know it all when it comes to Demons and Fighting Skills.

I did like how the Love interest in the book wasn’t like love-in-first-sight. Myla first, dislikes him and then they slowly like each other. They pull a funny prank in the book that did have me on a giggle-fit.

Lincoln at first comes off like he dislikes the quasi’s but always kinda had his eye on Myla. He is also a Prince of a bunch of Demon Hunters that usually live on earth.

Of course the story does have it’s action but it wasn’t really that much detailed. The action in the book is usually cut short and it would have me really wanting more of the action. I would also loved more Zeke and Cezzy. I really felt like their story wasn’t told enough. I am hoping in the next book i will get more of them.

I did like the story. Specially towards the end ( when everything comes together and starts actually being a really good story ), but i didn’t really love the story as much as i would have liked. The book does have it’s little flaws but besides that it’s a good book. I can see some of my followers to really enjoy the story.
