Waiting on Wednesday (14) Panic By Lauren Oliver & Nil by Lynne Matson

WaitingonWednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine,
which spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating!

I have not post a WoW post in like FOREVER and there has been a lot of books coming out. I do plan on posting more books soon that i would love to read that are coming out soon. I know, i know. I am huge slacker and have been completely lazy. These books i am showcasing are two books that i CAN NOT wait to read and thank goodness i don’t have to wait to long.

Title: Panic
Author: Lauren Oliver
Expected publication: March 4th 2014 by HarperCollins
Type: Contemporary, Science Fiction

Goodreads: Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a dead-end town of 12,000 people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do.

Heather never thought she would compete in Panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She’d never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought.

Dodge has never been afraid of Panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game, he’s sure of it. But what he doesn’t know is that he’s not the only one with a secret. Everyone has something to play for.

For Heather and Dodge, the game will bring new alliances, unexpected revelations, and the possibility of first love for each of them—and the knowledge that sometimes the very things we fear are those we need the most.

Thoughts: I want to just point out how freaking amazing Lauren Oliver is. Her Delirium Series is one of my favorites. I can’t wait to open this book and explore this world. I have high hopes for this book to come out and i really hope it is as good as her Delirium series. I am nervous for it because, as much as i like the Delirium series. I really hope it is different and unique, and shine in it own way. I am gonna keep my fingers crossed. It comes out in 6 days! I will be sitting here waiting for it to come out.

Title: Nil
Author: Lynne Matson
Expected publication:  March 4th 2014 by Henry Holt
Type: Science Fiction, Dystopia,

Goodreads: On the mysterious island of Nil, the rules are set. You have one year. Exactly 365 days–to escape, or you die.

Seventeen-year-old Charley doesn’t know the rules. She doesn’t even know where she is. The last thing she remembers is blacking out, and when she wakes up, she’s lying naked in an empty rock field.

Lost and alone, Charley finds no sign of other people until she meets Thad, the gorgeous leader of a clan of teenage refugees. Soon Charley learns that leaving the island is harder than she thought . . . and so is falling in love. With Thad’s time running out, Charley realizes that to save their future, Charley must first save him. And on an island rife with dangers, their greatest threat is time.

Thoughts: I seen this book on Netgalley and the first thoughts i had was The Hunger Games mix with the TV show Lost. Now i want to point out that i am huge fan of both, and i am very curious how this book will go. The summery of the story seems really interesting and exciting. I can’t wait to read this one. The cover makes the books seem very mysterious ( Yes i am that person who judges the cover ). I will be getting this book A.S.A.P. This one also comes out in 6 days so i might just be getting it when i get Panic.

it’s almost
time for war.

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She’s finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam’s life.

rb

I just want to start this off with how freaking INTENSE Unravel Me us. I swear i had a few heart attacks reading this book. I wasn’t emotionally prepared. I knew it was gonna be crazy, because of Shatter Me but i just was not prepared on how crazier it could get. How the book is written almost feels like poetry. The writing is just beautiful and the story was just a 100% more intense then Shatter Me.

I did have a hard time reading the book not because it was bad but the raw emotions that is in this book. I swear i shed a few tears over this story, like i said i wasn’t emotionally and mentally prepared for this book. I was just so torn with the story, like i would have to put the book down just too think and breath and not cry.

Juliette and Adam is just heart breaking the struggle they go threw and watching Juliette figure out who she is and not be so afraid. Adam wants to protect Juliette and be there for her but being together is hard because one, her touch kills and two, Adam isn’t as immune as they thought. So it’s always this battle between them. Have that adding Warner in the mix. First let me say how freaking misunderstood he is? like after reading Unravel Me, i have grown to love him. You learn a little bit more of who his and watch his true self show a little bit. His character breaks my heart the most. Most of the tears i had shed threw this book was because of him. you see him struggle against bad and good. I look forward to read more about him and Juliette in the next book. Even tho he has done bad things and is some what of a villian but i mean afte you read this book you just understand him more.

This series has took so many plot twist i wonder what could happen next. The ending was a cliff hangar like how can you end it like that! i needed more.  I have turned into a train wreak reading this story. There is like ZERO dull moments. It has suspense and mystery and can get intense less then a second. You have this crazy love-triangle sorta thing going on but usually me and Love-triangles don’t mix but in this case it is done right.

If they ever make this into a movie, all i have to say is they better not ruin it cause i will grow a freaking army on all them. Because this series is awesome but very complex and i can see them just ruining the movie. I will rage, i swear it.

With how the book end and how crazy i have become reading the series so far…does makes me really freaking nervous to read the next book. I don’t know if i can prepare my emotions. I just want to sit here a just spoil it just so you can understand how crazy it was but…i’m not that mean.

Everything about this series is amazing so far. The writing is perfection, and the characters. The overall emotions that surrounds this series. the story was just plain freaking epic.

*The Author sent me a paperback copy for a review. My Review is based on my HONEST opinion.

When the author Day Parker asked me to review her book, i read the review and thought this book was gonna be interesting. And in a way it was interesting but some parts in the book would lose me. I want to first start with some positive of these book. I really loved the whole concept of the book. And really liked how Day Parker took a twist with the concept of Elements Earth, Air, Fire, Water. The book could get super intense at times.

Now the story did feel like a soap opera a lot. There is a lot of Love drama going on it the book. It has this whole forbidden love, Love-Triangle in the mix and all i could think about was that i was reading a Soap opera. The book was definitely missing some more Suspense and Action. I did find my self getting confused on what the real plot of the story was and what was going on. Like there would be all these cool parts in the book but it was just hidden behind the drama. I had a hard time connecting to the characters in the book, they didn’t stand out to me. Specially the main character. She will say one thing and do the next and i just couldn’t understand who she was as a character.

The story wasn’t all bad like i had a love/hate relationship reading this book it just needed more and then i would have been all over this book. I really feel like my follow readers will like this book. Since lately they all been about these types of books. The story has a really get concept that i did enjoy. It is a easy and simple read that readers will find relaxing.

I do recommend the book and for readers to take the chance to read this book. Just because did end up loving the book doesn’t mean it’s bad( I have read worse ). I wasn’t feeling the book all that much but that just me. I do see a great story hidden and i do look forward to read the next book and i hope it gets better and we get to see more in this serious then Romance. I do have mix feelings for this book and have hope for it to get better the more the series goes on. So i am gonna keep my fingers crossed.

YA Book Review: Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier

12358349

Title: Ruby Red (The Ruby Red Trilogy #1)
Author: Kerstin Gier
Published:  May 22nd 2012 by Square Fish
Type: Fantasy, Science Fiction
Paperback

add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Although I had never seen him before, I recognized him immediately. I’d have known his voice anywhere. This was the guy I’d seen on my last journey back in time.

Or more precisely, the one who’d kissed my doppelganger while I was hiding behind the curtain in disbelief.

Sixteen-year-old Gwen lives with her extended – and rather eccentric – family in an exclusive London neighborhood. In spite of her ancestors’ peculiar history, she’s had a relatively normal life so far. The time-traveling gene that runs like a secret thread through the female half of the family is supposed to have skipped over Gwen, so she hasn’t been introduced to “the mysteries,” and can spend her time hanging out with her best friend, Lesly. It comes as an unwelcome surprise when she starts taking sudden, uncontrolled leaps into the past.

She’s totally unprepared for time travel, not to mention all that comes with it: fancy clothes, archaic manners, a mysterious secret society, and Gideon, her time-traveling counterpart. He’s obnoxious, a know-it-all, and possibly the best-looking guy she’s seen in any centrury . . . .

rb

TIME TRAVEL! I WILL REPEAT TIME TRAVEL! How can you go wrong with that? you just can’t. I always be obsess with the concept of time travel, and love how people portray it so different and in Ruby Red you get this unique concept of time travel that i found very interesting and exciting to read. If time travel was possible i would defiantly travel threw time.

I just fell in love with the story of Ruby Red. Gwen grew up thinking she didn’t have the Time Travel Gene. She always thought her cousin was the one with the gene. Gwen always though Time Travel would be awesome, not for her but for Charlotte. She never even had the thought it could possibly be her.

I love Gwen in Ruby Red. She would make me laugh threw out the book even when things took a serious route she would just have so much sass. She is a Goof-ball of a character and i just 100% loved her. Her best friend is this huge nerd that into mystery’s and is like Gwen side kick and has been helping her figure out everything threw the book.

Ruby Red was a really fun read and loved like every minute reading it. The story was packed with mystery and suspense. By the time the book was over i was going ” Nooooooooo ” about 100x. You get left with so much questions that didn’t get answered and i was a nervous wreak over it, But that’s the thing about series. They make you get so wrapped around the book and leave with question and then BAM! the end.

I am definitely adding Kerstin to my top favorite authors, Her story of Red Ruby was amazing and a freaking roller-coaster of emotions. I mean come on! Freaking Time Travel! I read this book fairly fast, i was just zooming threw the pages like a race car. I was obsess with the writing and was hooked from the start. I love how the author didn’t just go on about time travel. You actually get a lot of historical facts and that i really enjoyed.

The book does hint to a love story, but i loved how it does become more then just a love story. How the author portrayed in the book really felt realistic. Gwen likes this guy but knows thee is more important things she needs to-do. And Gwen always has the same thought in her head ” Don’t trust no one “.

Overall: I loved the story and the writing, it was so simple to follow along with. Ruby Red is a Fast read but it was just so fun to read. The story just gets you pumped for more and more. I defiantly will be reading the next book in the series when i get the chance. READ THIS BOOK MY FOLLOW READERS! I love this book and know readers will too.

Because of envelope 4, Ginny and a playwright/thief/ bloke–about–town called Keith go to Scotland together, with somewhat disastrous–though utterly romantic–results. But will she ever see him again?

Everything about Ginny will change this summer, and it’s all because of the 13 little blue envelopes.

rb

This book was not what i expected, when i first saw this book, my mind was like “This seems like it would be a fun read.” well i was soon mistaken. This book is actually really sad but like bittersweet. I wanted to read a book that was less on the sad note and more on the happy note. I didn’t get that with this book but i am happy that i did read this book cause it was pretty amazing read, yeah it does have some little minor flaws but the over all story was pretty epic.

The story does show a lot of Raw emotions and i thought the author did such a amazing job portraying those emotions in the book. Maureen writes such powerful characters in the book like Ginny. You watch her struggle with her journey but you see how brave and smart she is. and How crazy she was to actually go on this emotion wild adventure around parts of the world by herself. I honest don’t think i could do that.

The romance in the book was just adorable and so realistic. Ginny Falls in love with these guy but still follows the letters. She knew she would have to go homes at some point and knew in all reality she couldn’t stay in London. Tho i honestly have to say how disappointed i was in the fact that i didn’t get more of them two together. I guess at the end i hoping for more like Him going to america and going on his little adventure to see her and just aghh the feels.

Besides that there is this epic story with such impact and it becomes more then a love story but just coming out of shell and taking risk and really discovering life i guess you can say. The ending of the book with her aunt and really knowing her was just so freaking sad, i was in tears.

I might have wanted a sweet happy-fun book but i didn’t but i did get these crazy wild ride of a book. I did get left with more question and i heard there is another book so i will defiantly be buying it. I did feel like the story was short, maybe because when the end came and i was just wanting more. I read the book pretty fast. I am far from disappointed in the book and REALLY enjoyed it but i was wanting more towards the end. Even tho i do have to add it was pretty epic, I just need questions answered and more Keith and Ginny.

Overall: The story was very realistic and packed with emotions and and powerful story line and characters. The story was very intense on most parts and definitely worth the read. I really hope i get my questions answered and the next book and get more of Ginny and Keith and find out what else was in the letter number #13 ( Minor Spoiler……) That i didn’t mention in the full review but i most know.

YA Book Review: Cress by Merissa Meyer

Title: Cress (Lunar Chronicles #3)
Author: Merissa Meyer
Published:  February 4th 2014 by Feiwel & Friends
Type: Science Fiction, Dystopian, Paranormal
Hardcover

add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Rapunzel’s tower is a satellite. She can’t let down her hair—or her guard.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker—unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.

rb

Cress is by far the best in the series, I really just fell completely in love with Cress. Honestly loved everything about her. I just finished Cress and i have all these emotions boiling up and i just have to say that Cress was amazing and everything i was hoping for and more. I wish Winter was already out so i can have more of these amazing series. I have no clue how i am gonna wait for it to come out.

Cress was definitely more of a crazy wild ride with plot twist left and right. I was glued to every word in this book, i couldn’t take my eyes away from the pages. From where Scarlet left off i really didn’t know what would happen next and with cress you really got more of the story and i just loved how each book it just gets more crazy and crazy.

Cinder in Cress to me becomes more of these bad ass, each book she grows more into her character and really get to understand her. I worship Cinder and idolize her. If there is gonna be a movies and whoever plays Cinder has some serious shoes to fill. He and Kai are amazing, i hated him in Cinder because of how he treated her but in each book i do grow to love him. I defiantly feel a lot different towards him and i can’t wait to see what him and Cinder and the whole gang will do next in Winter.

Thorne is tho i have to say is MY favorite character in the series. He makes me laugh a lot in the series and how protective he was with Cress is just freaking cute, you know who cares more for Cress then he realizes and i know in winter will get to see them grown more towards each other. Thorne never really felt like he was a good person and you know he is hiding behind all the humor and Cress brings out the good in throne.

I don;t think i really have the heart to even talk about Wolf and Scarlet the feels is just too much to deal with and i am gonna add that to the list why i need to read winter like a.s.a.p. They are one of my Ships i have and i don;t want anything to happen to my babies..okay? okay…

Cress is PACKED with more action and suspense the whole plot of the story gets deeper in deeper in each book. I love Marissa Meyer and her concepts and her writing she is perfect. If she wrote another series i would for sure buy and read it. I am happy that i got the chance to read this amazing series and look forward for more. Everyone who hasn’t read this series yet, really should. It is worth it and amazing read.

Cress has everything that makes a great story, Yes the story is somewhat a love story but you get so much more then that, you get a HUGE epic story-line following the life’s of these characters in these amazing world of science fiction. I really love Fairy tale story’s with twist and this series has that. Like i said i can’t wait to read winter the 4th book in the series.
