add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical under-land, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.
When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.

* I won this copy from Inspiring Insomnia in a Giveaway. Thank you a BUNCH!

When I was child I was obsessed over Alice in Wonderland cartoon and later on read the book and just loved it. The story of Alice has always caught my eye. I just loved her and the Madness of wonderland. When I was child I would day dream of wonderland and I just would Imagine myself as Alice. When I heard about this book I knew I just had to get my hands on it. I have had this on my TBR list for ever. I am soo happy to have the chance to win this book and FINALLY read it. Already knew the book was gonna be amazing by all the wonderful reviews out there. There was a HUGE hype around this series, so I had some high hopes.

Now, yes the book is based on Wonderland but you don’t really follow Alice. The book is more based on the future and you read about Alyssa. She thinks she has this curse and the way to fix it, was to fix Alice’s mistakes when visiting Wonderland. Oh and her mother is in a asylum because of this curse. Wonderland has became a mess and more crazy and disturbing then what we all have watched and read. Alice in wonderland has always had that bizarre feel to it but this book takes it to whole new level of madness. Splintered takes a whole different twist to the story that I just fell in love with.

The whole concept to the story and the plot. The story is hard not to fall in love with. The writing is just beautiful. and the way the author wrote the characters was just amazing. I fell in love with Alyssa and her personalty. how she was written I just imagine her to look like Alice but more like a Skater Alice. but with all the characters, I fall in love with Morpheus the most. He was so misunderstood. and I just felt so sorry for him threw the whole book. I was rooting for him so much and still rooting for him. I just had so much feels all bottle up for Morpheus.

There is a hint of a Love triangle but it wasn’t wrote to be so annoying. It doesn’t affect the overall plot to the story like most. It didn’t make the story Dull or boring. There was so many plot Turns and twists to the story that will have almost everyone hooked to every word of the story.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the second back and jump back into Alyssa world and just read every part to the story. And of course get more of my Morpheus. If you haven’t read Splintered I definitely recommend you go out to your local book store or online on amazon and buy this book. Totally worth every penny. The book was just amazing from start to finish. I definitely see my self reading more of A.G. Howard in the future.
