it’s almost
time for war.

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She’s finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam’s life.

rb

I just want to start this off with how freaking INTENSE Unravel Me us. I swear i had a few heart attacks reading this book. I wasn’t emotionally prepared. I knew it was gonna be crazy, because of Shatter Me but i just was not prepared on how crazier it could get. How the book is written almost feels like poetry. The writing is just beautiful and the story was just a 100% more intense then Shatter Me.

I did have a hard time reading the book not because it was bad but the raw emotions that is in this book. I swear i shed a few tears over this story, like i said i wasn’t emotionally and mentally prepared for this book. I was just so torn with the story, like i would have to put the book down just too think and breath and not cry.

Juliette and Adam is just heart breaking the struggle they go threw and watching Juliette figure out who she is and not be so afraid. Adam wants to protect Juliette and be there for her but being together is hard because one, her touch kills and two, Adam isn’t as immune as they thought. So it’s always this battle between them. Have that adding Warner in the mix. First let me say how freaking misunderstood he is? like after reading Unravel Me, i have grown to love him. You learn a little bit more of who his and watch his true self show a little bit. His character breaks my heart the most. Most of the tears i had shed threw this book was because of him. you see him struggle against bad and good. I look forward to read more about him and Juliette in the next book. Even tho he has done bad things and is some what of a villian but i mean afte you read this book you just understand him more.

This series has took so many plot twist i wonder what could happen next. The ending was a cliff hangar like how can you end it like that! i needed more.  I have turned into a train wreak reading this story. There is like ZERO dull moments. It has suspense and mystery and can get intense less then a second. You have this crazy love-triangle sorta thing going on but usually me and Love-triangles don’t mix but in this case it is done right.

If they ever make this into a movie, all i have to say is they better not ruin it cause i will grow a freaking army on all them. Because this series is awesome but very complex and i can see them just ruining the movie. I will rage, i swear it.

With how the book end and how crazy i have become reading the series so far…does makes me really freaking nervous to read the next book. I don’t know if i can prepare my emotions. I just want to sit here a just spoil it just so you can understand how crazy it was but…i’m not that mean.

Everything about this series is amazing so far. The writing is perfection, and the characters. The overall emotions that surrounds this series. the story was just plain freaking epic.

*The Author sent me a paperback copy for a review. My Review is based on my HONEST opinion.

When the author Day Parker asked me to review her book, i read the review and thought this book was gonna be interesting. And in a way it was interesting but some parts in the book would lose me. I want to first start with some positive of these book. I really loved the whole concept of the book. And really liked how Day Parker took a twist with the concept of Elements Earth, Air, Fire, Water. The book could get super intense at times.

Now the story did feel like a soap opera a lot. There is a lot of Love drama going on it the book. It has this whole forbidden love, Love-Triangle in the mix and all i could think about was that i was reading a Soap opera. The book was definitely missing some more Suspense and Action. I did find my self getting confused on what the real plot of the story was and what was going on. Like there would be all these cool parts in the book but it was just hidden behind the drama. I had a hard time connecting to the characters in the book, they didn’t stand out to me. Specially the main character. She will say one thing and do the next and i just couldn’t understand who she was as a character.

The story wasn’t all bad like i had a love/hate relationship reading this book it just needed more and then i would have been all over this book. I really feel like my follow readers will like this book. Since lately they all been about these types of books. The story has a really get concept that i did enjoy. It is a easy and simple read that readers will find relaxing.

I do recommend the book and for readers to take the chance to read this book. Just because did end up loving the book doesn’t mean it’s bad( I have read worse ). I wasn’t feeling the book all that much but that just me. I do see a great story hidden and i do look forward to read the next book and i hope it gets better and we get to see more in this serious then Romance. I do have mix feelings for this book and have hope for it to get better the more the series goes on. So i am gonna keep my fingers crossed.

YA Book Review: Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier

Title: Ruby Red (The Ruby Red Trilogy #1)
Author: Kerstin Gier
Published:  May 22nd 2012 by Square Fish
Type: Fantasy, Science Fiction
Paperback

add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Although I had never seen him before, I recognized him immediately. I’d have known his voice anywhere. This was the guy I’d seen on my last journey back in time.

Or more precisely, the one who’d kissed my doppelganger while I was hiding behind the curtain in disbelief.

Sixteen-year-old Gwen lives with her extended – and rather eccentric – family in an exclusive London neighborhood. In spite of her ancestors’ peculiar history, she’s had a relatively normal life so far. The time-traveling gene that runs like a secret thread through the female half of the family is supposed to have skipped over Gwen, so she hasn’t been introduced to “the mysteries,” and can spend her time hanging out with her best friend, Lesly. It comes as an unwelcome surprise when she starts taking sudden, uncontrolled leaps into the past.

She’s totally unprepared for time travel, not to mention all that comes with it: fancy clothes, archaic manners, a mysterious secret society, and Gideon, her time-traveling counterpart. He’s obnoxious, a know-it-all, and possibly the best-looking guy she’s seen in any centrury . . . .

rb

TIME TRAVEL! I WILL REPEAT TIME TRAVEL! How can you go wrong with that? you just can’t. I always be obsess with the concept of time travel, and love how people portray it so different and in Ruby Red you get this unique concept of time travel that i found very interesting and exciting to read. If time travel was possible i would defiantly travel threw time.

I just fell in love with the story of Ruby Red. Gwen grew up thinking she didn’t have the Time Travel Gene. She always thought her cousin was the one with the gene. Gwen always though Time Travel would be awesome, not for her but for Charlotte. She never even had the thought it could possibly be her.

I love Gwen in Ruby Red. She would make me laugh threw out the book even when things took a serious route she would just have so much sass. She is a Goof-ball of a character and i just 100% loved her. Her best friend is this huge nerd that into mystery’s and is like Gwen side kick and has been helping her figure out everything threw the book.

Ruby Red was a really fun read and loved like every minute reading it. The story was packed with mystery and suspense. By the time the book was over i was going ” Nooooooooo ” about 100x. You get left with so much questions that didn’t get answered and i was a nervous wreak over it, But that’s the thing about series. They make you get so wrapped around the book and leave with question and then BAM! the end.

I am definitely adding Kerstin to my top favorite authors, Her story of Red Ruby was amazing and a freaking roller-coaster of emotions. I mean come on! Freaking Time Travel! I read this book fairly fast, i was just zooming threw the pages like a race car. I was obsess with the writing and was hooked from the start. I love how the author didn’t just go on about time travel. You actually get a lot of historical facts and that i really enjoyed.

The book does hint to a love story, but i loved how it does become more then just a love story. How the author portrayed in the book really felt realistic. Gwen likes this guy but knows thee is more important things she needs to-do. And Gwen always has the same thought in her head ” Don’t trust no one “.

Overall: I loved the story and the writing, it was so simple to follow along with. Ruby Red is a Fast read but it was just so fun to read. The story just gets you pumped for more and more. I defiantly will be reading the next book in the series when i get the chance. READ THIS BOOK MY FOLLOW READERS! I love this book and know readers will too.

add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Rapunzel’s tower is a satellite. She can’t let down her hair—or her guard.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker—unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.

rb

Cress is by far the best in the series, I really just fell completely in love with Cress. Honestly loved everything about her. I just finished Cress and i have all these emotions boiling up and i just have to say that Cress was amazing and everything i was hoping for and more. I wish Winter was already out so i can have more of these amazing series. I have no clue how i am gonna wait for it to come out.

Cress was definitely more of a crazy wild ride with plot twist left and right. I was glued to every word in this book, i couldn’t take my eyes away from the pages. From where Scarlet left off i really didn’t know what would happen next and with cress you really got more of the story and i just loved how each book it just gets more crazy and crazy.

Cinder in Cress to me becomes more of these bad ass, each book she grows more into her character and really get to understand her. I worship Cinder and idolize her. If there is gonna be a movies and whoever plays Cinder has some serious shoes to fill. He and Kai are amazing, i hated him in Cinder because of how he treated her but in each book i do grow to love him. I defiantly feel a lot different towards him and i can’t wait to see what him and Cinder and the whole gang will do next in Winter.

Thorne is tho i have to say is MY favorite character in the series. He makes me laugh a lot in the series and how protective he was with Cress is just freaking cute, you know who cares more for Cress then he realizes and i know in winter will get to see them grown more towards each other. Thorne never really felt like he was a good person and you know he is hiding behind all the humor and Cress brings out the good in throne.

I don;t think i really have the heart to even talk about Wolf and Scarlet the feels is just too much to deal with and i am gonna add that to the list why i need to read winter like a.s.a.p. They are one of my Ships i have and i don;t want anything to happen to my babies..okay? okay…

Cress is PACKED with more action and suspense the whole plot of the story gets deeper in deeper in each book. I love Marissa Meyer and her concepts and her writing she is perfect. If she wrote another series i would for sure buy and read it. I am happy that i got the chance to read this amazing series and look forward for more. Everyone who hasn’t read this series yet, really should. It is worth it and amazing read.

Cress has everything that makes a great story, Yes the story is somewhat a love story but you get so much more then that, you get a HUGE epic story-line following the life’s of these characters in these amazing world of science fiction. I really love Fairy tale story’s with twist and this series has that. Like i said i can’t wait to read winter the 4th book in the series.

Everything changes when they uncover the truth behind the chilling whispers that haunt their every step. Lilac and Tarver may find a way off this planet. But they won’t be the same people who landed on it.

A timeless love story, THESE BROKEN STARS sets into motion a sweeping science fiction series of companion novels. The Starbound Trilogy: Three worlds. Three love stories. One enemy.

rb

When the book first started i did feel a tide annoyed with it starting with this whole love in fist-sight. But the book doesn’t take long to take a whole different route. The story becomes more then that and you get thrown into a book of survival and heartbreak.

Tarver falls for a girl named Lilac, not know who she really was. Lilac Turns down Tarver even know she liked him because of her Father. Scared of what he would do to him. Of Course Tarver finds out Who Lilac is and to him he fault Stupid to ever look at Lilac. The story takes a huge twist after that somehow the ship they where on gets destroyed. Lilac and Tarver escape on a Pod and land on a Mysterious planet. They both struggle with survival and finding help while also having to deal with mysterious whispers.

There is some little action but not really the story is mostly about survival mixed with alienated “creatures”. You watch Tarver and Lilac grow close but also struggle with dealing with each other. The story has it’s moments that make you laugh but can make you cry soon after. It can take a serious intense Twist. Which happens a lot in this book. You never know what is gonna happen. it really didn’t take me long to get hooked to every word. But the story is still a Science Fiction love story but the authors did such a great job at portraying it.

I also love how the story is a way a Flash back in the beginning of each chapter you get like Bits of interrogation with Tarver telling what happened on the planet. I thought it made the story really interesting a whole it flowed with the story and it short helped with following along with the story.

I really love Lilac and Tarver’s characters. They both had such different life’s and personality’s but they clicked. Lilac is more smarter and Tarver is more of the fighter. without them both i don;t think any of them would have survived on thee own. The more you got close to the end of the story the more the tears the come along. it was so freaking sad and bittersweet and just pure awesome an a way and if you read the book you know what i mean.

I know the book was gonna be good but i was really shocked on how good it was, it really suppressed me. The story was so unique and different. it didn’t take me long to finish this story. In a funny way tho just in the beginning the book did somehow remind me of Titanic…..Step for “Jack” Doesn’t die and only two people live…..oh and the ship doesn’t hit a iceberg. But the similarity’s to it was totally there.

Overall: I really did love the overall story. DO NOT stop reading at the beginning but it gets wayyyyy better then that. I cried, I laughed and shed more tears reading this book. I went crazy on how the book ended and i can’t wait to read the next book in this series…i will be sitting here waiting for the day it comes out. The book was pretty amazing and different and very enjoyable. I recommend it. If you have not yet bought it, do me a favor and got on Amazon or a local book store and buy this book. It is worth the read.

Ruby will do anything to protect the people she loves. But what if winning the war means losing herself?

rb

Ever since i read The Darkest Minds i have been obsess! I been wanting to read Never Fade for while now, but just never got around to it. But i FINALLY bought the bought and read the same day. If you have read The Darkest Minds then you know how crazy the ending was, freaking HUGE plot twist. That ending made me complate insane for days of rocking back and forth in tears. Well Never Fade continues a little after the wild ending. Ruby is part of the Children’s League now and the first chapter was already packed with suspense.

If you haven’t read the Darkest minds then you really should go out and buy both the first and second book because BOTH are really good. The Author makes you just fall in love with the characters and gets you so attached like they are real. Like the character could be like evil like crazy i still loved that character.

I honestly felt like Never Fade was better. Ruby’s character has gown so much since the first book and to me she is a Bad Ass in The Darkest minds we watch her be this quiet girl who couldn’t control her powers and had a hard time opening up to people. In Never Fade she she has more control of hers powers and isn’t afraid anymore. She will do anything to protect the people she cares about.

Threw most of the book i was a total hot mess, like the book would go straight to my feels and all could do was asdfghjk! the book has a lot of raw emotion, specially with characters in the book. you got to fall in love with a new character named Jude and sorta of became like a little brother too ruby.

I don’t want to got into to much details but Liam in this book and with ruby will bring you too tears and take the life out of you.  and i have a serious soft spot for Connor. Yes he is supposed to be like this huge villain but my gosh he makes evil look good. Some villain are just awesome, okay? The way the book ends was kinda bitter sweet, yeah it was super sad but what ruby did was pretty bad ass and the last line in the book was just freaking awesome.

Overall the book had everything i could ask for and more. It is a pager tuner full of suspense and action that will have anyone going crazy for more. Ruby is on my top 10 list of favorite kick ass chicks in books hands down. Readers will not be disappointed in never fade.

rb

I am just gonna point out that there was a LOT of things i did love about the book, but really the only thing i had a problem is was, the whole love interest in the book. I felt like it rushed and you really didn’t get a chance to understand it all. I have never been a fan of books that start with the whole “Love in first Sight” thing.

The first chapter starts off with Cassie, She is already head of Heels for this mystery guy named Ethan. This guy throws red flags left and right. She knows she can’t trust him and his keeping secrets but to her she is in total love with this guy even when time after time it’s been proven not to trust him. And with that added comes the Love triangle…petty much the classic romance trick in the books. I have a love and hate relationship with love triangles, if it’s done right i love it, but if it done wrong i just don’t like it. In this case i didn’t like it much in this book. Cassie was so blindly in love with this Ethan guy she couldn’t see. Now if i had to pick a Team then i would hop on the Jeff Train.

Now besides all that i did enjoy and adored the story. You have Cassie and Kay, best friends since childhood. They have strange bond where they can feel each others emotions. They are petty much like sisters separated at birth. They both born on the same day and at the same time and that is petty much a hint to the awesome overall plot to the story. Cassie Has never believed in magic or anything like that, to her it’s something in a book or on TV, Total fictional. Her sister was part of the coven and couldn’t wait for Cassie to join but right before she dies she made Cassie promise to never join the coven.

The whole Town is pretty much part of a big coven with witches. They all want Cassie to join but for one she doesn’t believe and two she had made a promise. Of course the more the story goes the harder it is to stay away. Cassie is determined to find out the mystery’s of the coven and her sisters death and along the way she discovers more then she bargain for.

I love the overall story and the concept. I liked how the book twisted into something much bigger then what it started as. I will definitely read more books to this series. I might not have liked the whole Love interest in this book but the story grows more then just that and you get a big bundle of Suspense and Mystery that makes you want to read more.

Overall i am gonna give it a 4 out 5 star rating because besides the romance flaw there is amazing story and i can’t wait to read more.

About the Author

So who am I? Well, I’m the crazy girl with an imagination that never shuts up. I LOVE scary movies. My friends laugh at me when I scare myself watching them and tell me to stop watching them, but who doesn’t love to get scared? I grew up in a small town nestled in the southern mountains of West Virginia where I spent days roaming around in the woods, climbing trees, and causing general mayhem. Nights I would stay up reading Nancy Drew by flashlight under the covers until my parents yelled at me to go to sleep.
I love books, I love writing books, and I love entertaining people with my silly stories.

My goodness what a book, i have a lot to say about the book but i am gonna keep it short as possible. Now First the start was freaking depressing, there was moments i was in tears or i really close to tears.

And second i freaking love Lexi and Cole and my goodness how awesome was Zeus? Can i have him as my dog? There was a lot of good characters in the book, but My favorite would have to be Alyssa. She made me cry so much and her personalty was perfect. She was such a awesome character and to me the bravest. There is some characters that will have you rage, and when i say some i mean a lot.

I do want to point out that i do like the book, but Branded can get really detailed on a few subjects that can be hard to read, not that it was bad but it just was so depressingly detailed that made it hard to read. it only happens a couple times in the book. Branded can get really deep with a lot of emotions good and bad.

Branded defiantly had a lot of shocking twists that did suppressed me. I really loved how the book ended it was really bittersweet and touching but you also knew that it wasn’t over, there was more danger to come.  I honestly loved the book. There was a few minor flaws in the book but noting that ruins the overall impact that branded has.

I don’t recommend all readers. The book does touch a lot of sensitive topics like child abuse and rape. That some readers might not want to read about. But really i don’t usually like books that touch those topics but branded and the overall story it just worked for me. without those sensitive topics we wouldn’t have Lexi and who she is. there was not a single Dull moment in this book and it is very fast paste that will have readers flowing with the words. It is a overall a page turner. I want to keep going on and on about the book, but i also don’t want to giveaway too much of the story. Read it for yourself and tell me what you all thought about it. Like i said i don’t recommend all readers but i do recommend it.

add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: A compelling debut novel asks what happens when children develop inexplicable abilities—and the government sees them as a threat.

They’re known as Firestarters. Boomers. Skychangers. The government calls them Illegals — children with inexplicable abilities — and detains them in menacing facilities so that society is kept out of harm’s way. Ashala Wolf and her Tribe of fellow Illegals have taken refuge in the Firstwood, a forest eerily conscious of its inhabitants, where they do their best to survive and where they are free to practice their abilities. But when Ashala is compelled to venture outside her territory, she is betrayed by a friend and captured by an enemy. Injured and vulnerable, with her own Sleepwalker ability blocked, Ashala is forced to succumb to a machine that will pull secrets from her mind. It’s only a matter of time before the machine ferrets out the location of the Tribe. Her betrayer, Justin Connor, is ever-present, saving her life when she wishes to die and watching her every move. Will the Tribe survive the interrogation of Ashala Wolf?

I was a little confused in the beginning but i am pretty sure the Author did that on purpose, so you can feel as confused as the character. The more the story goes on the more you connect the dots to what is going on in the story.

I did read the book fairly fast. Cause for one the character in the book was awesome and second the whole plot  with the Twist and Turns that had me flipping threw the pages just to find out more. I really loved most of the characters in the book but the main one was for sure hands down, Ashala. Even after finishing the book i can still say she is a favorite of mine. The Love and care the character has for her tribe members was just flowing out of the pages for me. The love and care she has for them is strong and just beautiful, even when she was betrayed by one she still cared for them..because they where Tribe.

you read you Ashala point of View but you also get connect with the other characters in the book. That is one of the things i liked about the book. Yes it was about Ashala but really it was about the others too. Once you watch the book unravel, it becomes this powerful book to me like trust and family and the things you will do to protect them. Scene that had me crying, but a lot of scenes was just so freaking sad…sad scene that still put a smile on your face. I Don’t want to say much about the other characters but besides Connor..i just have to mention him.

Threw the book i was just craving for more Conner. you get left confused by Connor threw most of the book. BUT i more towards the end you finally get more on Connor and omg i cried! specially around the end…the tears just wouldn’t stop. Conner is Awesome and i am gonna go ahead and jump on the Ashala and Conner Ship. There relationship starts off a little rocky but once you read the book, that becomes understandable.

Overall: Besides the slow confusing beginning, i couldn’t find a flaw in the book. It’s full of Mystery and lots of other awesome stuff. The book i guess you can say is a dystopian but mixed with supernatural. Anyways awesome Bool. I defiantly recommend it.

add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Darrow is a miner and a Red, a member of the lowest caste in the color-coded society of the future. Like his fellow Reds, he digs all day, believing that he and his people are making the surface of the planet livable for future generations. Darrow has never seen the sky.

Yet he spends his life willingly, knowing that his blood and sweat will one day result in a better future for his children.

But Darrow and his kind have been betrayed. Soon he discovers that humanity already reached the surface generations ago. Vast cities and sprawling parks spread across the planet. Darrow and Reds like him are nothing more than slaves to a decadent ruling class.

Inspired by a longing for justice, and driven by the memory of lost love, Darrow joins a resistance group in order to infiltrate the ruling class and destroy society from within. He will stop at nothing to bring down his enemies… even if it means he has to become one of them to do so.

I really have to point this out, Red Rising has to be one of my Favorite Opening to a book. I thought how it started how a good way to show you how Darrow becomes the Darrow later in the book. You get thrown in with so much emotional and tears for Darrow. He is the kinda guy who does what his told for the good of his people but after what happens ( i won’t mention ) You watch him become more aware of what really is going on. There is a part in the book that is some-what in the beginning that had me in tears. I never really cried in a book in the beginning of a story cause i usually don’t get drown to the characters until i really get to know that character, But in Red rising in this scene i cried like a baby. Darrow has to be one of my top favorite characters in books.

After the beginning the story does kinda go on a slow paste, but one the story goes on the more the gets bigger and more intense in the plot. There is a lot of parts in the book that had me biting my nails and scenes that had me almost in rage. Like with Darrow there was parts where i was yelling ” Do something Darrow “. You watch Darrow grown attach to some golds and hate others. But mostly he learns not all golds are bad and not reds are good.

I was suppressed how much i did end up loving the book. The has the whole Medieval feel to it later in the books, Touch of Survival. And also i loved how the books had the whole Honesty feel about it. The book wasn’t shy from Violence. There was times i did feel like it was like The Hunger Games mixed in old Medieval war but on a alien planet. Lots of suspense and action. Overall loved the whole plot.

I also really loved how the book ended, it wasn’t like a cliff hanger more like you know some serious stuff is gonna go down in the book, where we will get more of the Main plot.

Overall: I am happy to say i loved the book. Great Opening, slow start to the whole plot but once it was there the book just would get better and Better. In my opinion i highly recommend Readers YA or Adult, Boys or girls. I recommend the book for all. I Don;t Recommend the book for Children…Like i said the book wasn’t shy from Violence.
