add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Mason Starling is a champion fencer on the Gosforth Academy team, but she’s never had to fight for her life. Not until the night a ferocious, otherworldly storm rips through Manhattan, trapping Mason and her teammates inside the school. Mason is besieged by nightmarish creatures more terrifying than the thunder and lightning as the raging tempest also brings a dangerous stranger into her life: a young man who remembers nothing but his name—the Fennrys Wolf. His arrival tears Mason’s world apart, even as she feels an undeniable connection to him. Together, they seek to unravel the secrets of Fenn’s identity as strange and supernatural forces gather around them. When they discover Mason’s family—with its dark allegiance to ancient Norse gods—is at the heart of the mystery, Fennrys and Mason are suddenly faced with a terrifying future.Set against the gritty, shadowed back-drop of New York City, this first novel in award-winning author Lesley Livingston’s epic Starling Saga is an intoxicating blend of sweeping romance and pulse-pounding action.

My first thought when i seen the cover was “Intense and spooky”. I like that in a cover. The cover has this darkness feel to it. I was really excited to read this book by Lesley. I also loved the fact that this book is based on Mythical gods. I giggled like a fan girl when Thor and Loki and Asgard was mention, cause i just finished the Avengers..Yeah i know, not related at all.

The book starts off with mason fencing in the gym when a huge storm happens, knocking a tree into the window and zombie like creatures start to attacking everyone in the gym. A boy named Fennerys Wolf comes in a saves them while naked i shall point out. Which by the way i thought was an awesome way to start a book. I also heard that Fennerys Wolf first appears in Lesley’s other series Called Wondrous Strange. Which will help explain a lot of things while reading Starling. Crazy things start to happen to Mason after that. She has to deal with monsters and Betrayal from the ones she loves. While reading starling you learn you can’t trust everyone.

The Whole book was a mind blowing Experience for the beginning to the end. My Hands were griping the pages every time something intense or crazy happened. The book was full of action and a little bit of romance. After i finished the book, i had to take a breather! and think about what just happened. It ends with this huge cliff hanger, i don’t think i will ever get over with until i read the 2nd book! I need to know what will happened with Mason and Fenn. Like A.S.A.P!

Overall Mind Blowing. Loved the characters in the book, the cover, The whole freaking package. An amazing read that will seriously have you biting your nails the whole time reading.

Look how freaking awesome the cover! just look how intense it looks! When i first got the copy i was drooling over the cover. Reading the summery of the book it screamed amazing! This book isn’t no average After life book, it’s kinda on the confusing side. what got me little was the whole concept of the story. I didn’t really get it at first. The summery of the book really doesn’t explain what is really going on. on.

The book is suppressed to be based in the after life but it’s more like the in between earth and heaven. Felicia dies in a car crash and know spend her time in the hive called known as level two. Watching her memory’s over and over again threw this thing that is like a computer thing she plugs in her( kinda confusing) Someone she used to know in the past, comes in frees from her chamber. I really honestly had no clue what was going on threw most of the book. I liked what the author was trying to aim for. I just feel like some parts should of been explain a little more. I felt in the dark just like the character in the book did. To be honest the whole book kinda sounds like it’s on some kinda UFO ship then the after life and i don;t really get why people count this book as a Dystopian.

Know i am not gonna say i didn’t like it. I did like how the book was different and unique in it’s unusual way. I am really interested on how the second book is gonna be like. The ending was pretty wild and nail biting. I do recommend the book to all the Science nerds. Maybe you guys can crack this book for me.

Overall interesting book worth the time to read. I still have a lot of questions i would like to be answered but besides that the book was pretty simple to read. I would like to hear what your thoughts on the book. Have you read The memory of after( Level 2 ) Yet?

YA Book Review: Hex Hall By Rachel Hawkins

Title: Hex Hall ( Hex Hall #1 )

Author: Rachel Hawkins

Published: 2010 by Hyperion Books

Type: Urban Fantasy, Paranormal

Hardcover, 323 pages

add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It’s gotten her into a few scrapes. Her non-gifted mother has been as supportive as possible, consulting Sophie’s estranged father–an elusive European warlock–only when necessary. But when Sophie attracts too much human attention for a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, it’s her dad who decides her punishment: exile to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters.

By the end of her first day among fellow freak-teens, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tagalong ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire student on campus. Worse, Sophie soon learns that a mysterious predator has been attacking students, and her only friend is the number-one suspect.

As a series of blood-curdling mysteries starts to converge, Sophie prepares for the biggest threat of all: an ancient secret society determined to destroy all Prodigium, especially her.

rbI have heard a lot of good things about this book. After reading all the reviews and reading about on goodreads, i had such high hopes for this book. My gut was telling me i was gonna love this book. For one it has witches and other cool make believe things. And two it’s at a school. Sounds pretty epic. I am happy to say i was not disappointed. I love the book. I adored Sophie, She is has this sassy attitude about her that you can’y help but to like her. She makes me laugh when things are serious.

Sophie knew she was a witch. She gain her powers when she was fourteen. She tried to do a love spell to help a girl and it went wrong. Her father send her to a school for short called Hex hall. She never meet her father and she learns she was kept many secrets about who she was. Crazy things start to happen.

I loved the twist in turns in this book, in moment that totally shocked me. The book was very intense. Seriously toward the end you will will go insane. The book was beautifully written, easy to follow along with. A really awesome story of a girl trying to fit in the world of magic. I really honestly loved everything about this book.

I loved the fact there was no Insta-love in this book and it wasn’t all about the romance. You really only got a little bit that you could enjoy the whole story. Some books start  with the romance and make the the whole book about it but you don’t get that with Hex Hall.

Hex Hall was a fast read for me. I read it in less then a day in one sitting. You could easy be zoned into this book. I didn’t want to get up when i knew i needed to because i didn’t want to stop reading it. The Book was better then i thought it was gonna be, i knew it was gonna be good but i didn;t think i would LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. I highly recommend this book. It has Werewolfs, Fairies, Vampires, Witches. How could you NOT read this? Read it now people! it is amazing.

*My copy of the book is two books in one.

I was a little iffy to read this book because of Crusade. Not that the book was bad and all, i just couldn’t get into it. I heard a few mix reviews about Wicked, but as some of you know i been in a witch hype lately. I wanted to risk it and read this book to see if i will like it. Since the book is actually two books in one i am gonna try to separate the review without making this post to long.

My thoughts on Witch: Holly’s parents die and she is sent to live with her aunt and cousins she has never heard of before. Strange things start happening to holly and her cousins. They find out they are witches. the book was pretty true to the whole witch concept but with out the pointy hats and nose. The book kind of has this romeo and Juliet thing going on. The whole book seem very rushed. Some parts i didn’t understand…actually i didn’t really get this whole book, it jumped a lot, But the book wasn’t all bad i did like some of it. I didn’t really like the whole romance or whatever you want to call it. I thought it was a little odd. I really wanted to know more about Jer, but only got a little peek.

My thoughts on Cruse: I was really highly disappointed in this one, the first one was way better then cruse. The second was so jumbled i can’t get what in the world was going on. The Whole jumping from past to future was just to hard to keep up. I still didn’t get to read about Jer at all and had no freaking clue what was going on with Nicole  i did like the whole concept and thought it was funny that the witches weakness was water…i couldn’t take this book seriously at all there was parts i laughed at that i wasn’t supposed to laugh at cause it was just awkward. I just couldn’t get in to it like i wanted to.

My Overall Thoughts: The first book wasn’t bad. second book was a fail. Do without the flash back and more detail and this book would have been amazing. Do i recommend the book? Yes sure, but not everyone is gonna like it. Some people might find it cheesy but some might like the simple writing. The book is really easy to read. i give the book and overall 2.5 stars in my opinion. Others might give it more stars.

YA Book Review : The Angel Experiment

Title: Maximum Ride : The Angel Experiment
Author: James Patterson
Published: 2005 By Little, Brown and Company
Type: Fantasy, Science Fiction
Hardcover, 420 Pages
Source: Gift/Bought

add-to-goodreads-button3 Summery: Get ready for the maximum thrill ride from #1 New York Times bestselling author James Patterson.

After the mutant Erasers abduct the youngest member of their group, the “bird kids”, who are the result of genetic experimentation, take off in pursuit and find themselves struggling to understand their own origins and purpose.

My Review: My first ever James Patterson read, Yup you heard me right. I never read Any of his books, Not that i didn’t want to, just never got around to it. My Mother was the one who wanted me to read this series and she is the one who bought it for me. I have seen this book around a lot and now there is a huge fan base for this series.

The book starts off with Max Escaping the place she calls the “School” were there is people who where experimenting on her and others. Max has wings like an angel and so does others she escaped with. They have been hiding from these people ever since, until one day the youngest name angel is taking by erasers who are like human wolfs, back to the “School” so Max, Fang and Nudge go and save her.

You don’t just read in Max PoV, you also read in Angel, Iggy and Nudge and even Gazzy. There isn’t any romance in this book and if there is, it’s not in the first book. It’s just mostly about max and others trying to find answers and saving the world kinda thing. What i don’t get is why it took me soo long to read this series, i really really liked the book. I got pretty zoned into this book and was p all night until 5 am trying to finish it. Max and the others are always on the run from the erasers. It has a lot of adventures in it.

I have to say this has been my favorite read of the month. It was soo good i want to give it a thousands stars. I have to get my hands on this whole series soon.

The Story is intense, it’s just one huge crazy ride after the next. There is never a dull moment. Judging from my copy, the cover is okay-ish not really a fan of it, but without the cover sleeve it’s awesome with the bad ass Maximum Ride symbol.

If you haven’t read this series yet READ it. It will shock you and leave you speechless. The endding is mind blowing. I wish the book didn’t end cause i wanted to just read it forever and ever. I have so much unanswered questions. You will like the Twist and turns of the book and the Fantasy with all kinds of crazy things. Dig in.

Now i am gonna go hide a rock with my copy until i can read the next book. Highly recommend, it’s a must read, so read it Book worms.
