add-to-goodreads-button3Summery: Darrow is a miner and a Red, a member of the lowest caste in the color-coded society of the future. Like his fellow Reds, he digs all day, believing that he and his people are making the surface of the planet livable for future generations. Darrow has never seen the sky.

Yet he spends his life willingly, knowing that his blood and sweat will one day result in a better future for his children.

But Darrow and his kind have been betrayed. Soon he discovers that humanity already reached the surface generations ago. Vast cities and sprawling parks spread across the planet. Darrow and Reds like him are nothing more than slaves to a decadent ruling class.

Inspired by a longing for justice, and driven by the memory of lost love, Darrow joins a resistance group in order to infiltrate the ruling class and destroy society from within. He will stop at nothing to bring down his enemies… even if it means he has to become one of them to do so.

I really have to point this out, Red Rising has to be one of my Favorite Opening to a book. I thought how it started how a good way to show you how Darrow becomes the Darrow later in the book. You get thrown in with so much emotional and tears for Darrow. He is the kinda guy who does what his told for the good of his people but after what happens ( i won’t mention ) You watch him become more aware of what really is going on. There is a part in the book that is some-what in the beginning that had me in tears. I never really cried in a book in the beginning of a story cause i usually don’t get drown to the characters until i really get to know that character, But in Red rising in this scene i cried like a baby. Darrow has to be one of my top favorite characters in books.

After the beginning the story does kinda go on a slow paste, but one the story goes on the more the gets bigger and more intense in the plot. There is a lot of parts in the book that had me biting my nails and scenes that had me almost in rage. Like with Darrow there was parts where i was yelling ” Do something Darrow “. You watch Darrow grown attach to some golds and hate others. But mostly he learns not all golds are bad and not reds are good.

I was suppressed how much i did end up loving the book. The has the whole Medieval feel to it later in the books, Touch of Survival. And also i loved how the books had the whole Honesty feel about it. The book wasn’t shy from Violence. There was times i did feel like it was like The Hunger Games mixed in old Medieval war but on a alien planet. Lots of suspense and action. Overall loved the whole plot.

I also really loved how the book ended, it wasn’t like a cliff hanger more like you know some serious stuff is gonna go down in the book, where we will get more of the Main plot.

Overall: I am happy to say i loved the book. Great Opening, slow start to the whole plot but once it was there the book just would get better and Better. In my opinion i highly recommend Readers YA or Adult, Boys or girls. I recommend the book for all. I Don;t Recommend the book for Children…Like i said the book wasn’t shy from Violence.
